DR. B. C. Roy Engineering College solemly celebrated 159th Birthday of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Somatmananda Maharajah, Secretary, Ramkrishna Mission Asansol grased the occasion with his presence in the college. The celebration began garlanding the statue of Swamiji at Vivek Udyan in the college by Swami Somatmananda Maharaj which was followed suit by the General Secretary of BCREC Group of Institutions and the Director of the Engineering College, Dr. Pijush Pal Roy, the Director of Dr. B. C. Roy College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Subrata Chakraborty, the Principal of the same College Dr. Subhabrata Roy, and the Principal of BCRECAPC, Dr. Saurabh Dutta and other society members and faculties and officials.
A seminar was held on "Ethics, Education and Humanity: the Thought of Swami Vivekananda" The speaker was Swami Somatmananda Maharaj. The seminar started with the songs offering tribute to the Great Son of Humanity by the members of the college. The General Secretary of Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College presented a memento to Swami Somatmananda Maharaj. The Director of BCREC welcomed the honourable guest Swami Somatmananda Maharaj. Dr. Saurabh Dutta briefly explained the versatility of Swamiji from his childhood and expected to hear from Swami Somatmananda Maharaj which could be percolated to the students for their character building.. Mr. Tarun Bhattacharya, the honourable General Secretary of Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College and the Group of Institutions concluded the programme with his vote of thanks. Swami Somatmananda Maharaj explained the values of ethics in life for emancipation of the Society.
